● Characteristics and Applications:

C75700 nickel silver has excellent cold workability. It is mainly used for chain links, camera components, low optical instrument parts, nameplates, etc.

Copper + Silver (Cu + Ag): 63.5–66.5

Lead (Pb): ≤0.05

Iron (Fe): ≤0.25

Zinc (Zn): Balance

Nickel + Cobalt (Ni + Co): 11.0–13.0

Manganese (Mn): ≤0.50

Nickel silver is a copper-based alloy with nickel as the main additive element. It appears silvery white with a metallic luster, hence the name "nickel silver." Nickel silver containing elements such as manganese, iron, zinc, and aluminum is referred to as complex nickel silver (i.e., ternary or higher nickel silver), including iron nickel silver, manganese nickel silver, zinc nickel silver, aluminum nickel silver, etc. Copper and nickel can form an infinite solid solution, resulting in a continuous solid solution, meaning that regardless of the proportion, it always forms an α-single-phase alloy. When nickel is melted into copper and the content exceeds 16%, the resulting alloy becomes as white as silver. The higher the nickel content, the whiter the color. The nickel content in nickel silver is generally around 25%. Adding nickel to pure copper significantly improves strength, corrosion resistance, hardness, electrical resistance, and thermoelectric properties while reducing the resistivity temperature coefficient. Therefore, nickel silver exhibits exceptionally good mechanical and physical properties compared to other copper alloys, with excellent ductility, high hardness, attractive appearance, corrosion resistance, and deep-drawing performance. It is widely used in shipbuilding, petrochemicals, electrical appliances, instruments, medical devices, decorative crafts, and more. It is also an important material for resistors and thermocouple alloys. Applications include sliding pieces for potentiometers, coins, tokens, eyeglass frames, keys, and deep-drawn components. It is also used in liquid crystal oscillator element casings, crystal casings, medical machinery, construction, wind instruments, etc. Based on performance characteristics and applications, it is divided into structural nickel silver and electrical nickel silver.
